There are many ways to use the "Shanghai Samurai" deck to play fun and interesting card games, old and new (Try making up your own original games). Here are just 2 of the many possibilities:
1. "Pure" Poker Style:
Play any style Poker game, except players are dealt 6 card hands instead of the traditional 5. The hand rankings are as follows:
A lower sum of a 6-card hand is considered a higher ranking than a higher total sum hand.
If you have matching cards (Cards of the same single number value) these cards are grouped as 1 card and are worth the number value of only one card of its kind.
2. “President” or “Scum” style Card Game:
But in addition to the traditional “President” or “Scum” game-play rules you have the added ability to use Rock, Paper, Scissor attributes when placing cards on top of each other.
For example, if you are unable to drop a lower number card onto the card stack you can use a higher number card, but only if that card has a Rock, Paper, Scissor attribute that beats the lower number card’s Rock, Paper, Scissor attribute.
